The VoiceOver screen reader is preinstalled on any Apple Phone and Computer.
To enable it, go to Settings, General, Accessibility, VoiceOver, VoiceOver On. If you can't see to put it on I suggest you don't go here accidentally and switch it off!!
My phone is an iPhone 3GS. Light Detector, Colour Detector and A SPC Phone are all available from the Apple App Store I think they were all free. You can tap anywhere on the screen, swipe to go through your apps, double tap to select the app you want. swipe left or right to find back button, double tap to select, or just press the home button. My screen is usually blank but I put the brightness up so you can see it, SO I really hope it was in shot and that you could make out that it was moving and stuff!!. If you are visually impaired, what phone or apps do you use?

  • I'm glad my video helped a little. Tell your dad I'm thinking of him and I know he will overcome it. Just takes time and a lot of adjustment. I'll keep you posted with other apps and aids I come across that I find helpful in the future. Thanks for subbing!

  • I used voice over daily via tapping/swping to navigate then refreshable braille device to email and text the voice over was only slow on that bupit. When tapping and using vo on it's own it was fine. Coulnd't afford iphone4 now on doro easyphone 615 I'm registered blind.

  • @amyrowe85 - Thank you very much for this video! My father just recently lost his sight and at 65 it has been very challenging. I've been looking for a phone for him and after playing with the voiceover option on my iphone (the only way I could test it was with my eyes closed) I was very left very confused. This vid helped. I also didn't know that there are some apps for people with low vision or are blind! That is AWESOME! I am subbing and will have my Dad listen to your videos too! THANK YOU!

  • If you want more info on accessible apps just PM me :D
