Short but my favorite scene from this movie as David(Heflin)reacts in quite the familiar and typical fashion when he's fed up with Louise(Mildered's character).

  • Crawford actually went to the asylum to study pscotic behavior. The story goes is that the role was little too close to the bone for her and she was unable to shake it off for a while.

  • @windstorm1000 That's interesting. Thanks. :)

  • I simply loved this film and thought it to be one of Joan's best performances. Joan Crawford was amazingly beautiful and my goodness, the quintessential diva, bar none. Van Heflin was just perfect , there couldn't of been a more suited leading man with a strong temperament to match the wonderful Joan.

  • @twilson11208 They certainly did play well against each other. Great casting of their characters.

  • Loved Van Heflin...can't see how anyone can view him as fat in this film. He was all man and had such a beautiful masculine voice, and what an actor.

  • @twilson11208 No.. I can't see how one could seriously describe him as fat. I loved his voice too and I very much loved his manner in this film. Thanks for your comment. :)

  • @iamlovedbysomeone he's got something many a handsomer actor doesn't

  • @TheSnowdropFan I think all that delicious rejection that Van was putting out there was just too much for Joan to resist. He had a sense of humor (dry wit) but that's always attractive. Glad to find another person that enjoys this movie too. Thanks for stopping by.

  • I love this movie.I kind of asked myself what Joans character saw in Vans but Van Heflin ugly? I don´t think he is.And he was a great actor also.I like him and Joans interaction in this movie, theire scenestogether has a certain punch I like.

  • @BettinaBalser I know right.
