Does Hoor in the Quran mean women? - Yasir Qadhi

"I have a question about women in Jannah (paradise). I have come across women scholars saying that the word Hoor does not actually refer to women. What do you have to say about this as an Islamic scholar?"

As a muslima, I have something to say: I have watched many videos and I am shocked at the language of supposed muslims on the enternet and how some choose to carry themsleves. What contradiction is it to youtube religious videos, clearly showing that you want knowledge to become a better muslim, and then forget the simple beliefs of islam. Please treat others with respect, do not swear at one another or call each other petty names, and reflect on your own statements before you post them.

Hoor has no gender. that is a big eyed beautiful sacred creature who will serve good men and good women in paradise. Allah is Adil!

Zakir Naik said himself that hoor means compainions and it has not mentioned any real gender. So why is Zakir Naik and Yasir Qadhi's views different from one on another? I don't understand?

@Mirewood There is only one fundamental way of practising Islam. Those who do it violently as you say, are not practising the tenants of the religion correctly in that aspect. Because if you read the Qur'an and the Ahadith, they are very clear and extensive. Nothing contradicts, and so there is only one main way to follow the religion, which from your previous statement, would correspond to the peaceful way I believe.

muhammad  says" the Prophet said: “The believer in Paradise will be given such and such strength for sexual intercourse.” He was asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, will he really be able to do that?” He said, “He will be given the strength of one hundred (men).” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2459. He said, (it is) saheeh ghareeb).
