Some young ladies take daily care of an 18 year old horse named "Flappy", named so because of his by birth misformed ears.
They take him out of the nearby meadow without a halter (as any halter would simply slip off his head) and feed and groom him. So he was free to walk towards the riding/ grazing ring to contact William, and he did so. The area William is in, is a riding ring and not a meadow. The "fencing" is put up as a guideline for the riding area and is not more then just that.
One lady trying to catch "Flappy", and therefore if any kicking and screaming would arise, she would be in really great danger.
William saved the day with his gentlemanlike and friendly behaviour (and stole my heart again in the process).

  • @ralzeet My horse career is over due to being injured by a young horse who was "so sweet, wouldn't hurt a fly"unfortunately I was dumb enough to believe it.Now I walk with a cane and a permanent limp,I will never be able to ride again. So please don't be sofoolish and brag about something so dangerous, next time it could be you.I don't say this to be mean,I say it because it hurts to see a young person put themself in danger, all for the sake of a video and a boast.

  • I think that the lady was actually making them more and more nervous.

  • very sad to read recently, that the Hackney carriage horse is now on the Rare Breed Trust "critical"list :-(

  • @armystrong9997 "Lady"? He's a 70-year-old man from Holland. Knock off the internet badassery, I'm sure you'd rather be getting in a few barfights instead.

  • and she walks behind them in THIS situation when they are tense?

  • @jamarqui read under the film-.-'

  • Beautiful horses...

    That situation did look dangerous...

    I'm glad no-one got hurt.

  • @ralzeet I've seen incidents like this where the horses seem quite alright with one another... and then BAM. One damn near breaks the other's leg with a squeal and a sharp kick. The gelding that was kicked ended up with a splinted shin.

There's always a freak chance of something like this turning foul. Thinking otherwise is just ignorant. I've been around horses my whole life and even the most bomb-proof horse can have a moment. A friend of mine was almost killed by such a horse.

  • You have some very well behaved horses there. Its nice to know they can sort it out. I had a crabbet mare who made more of a fuss then her colt son did. She would arch up and squeal - such a wonderful site - not much fun being on the end of the lead, though. In any case. Well done William the Hackney.

  • what kind of horse william?

  • two beautiful horses acting as horses do, they do not look like they have known each other long, I have three questions for the handler of the horses

    1. Why is the fence so low? a horse can get his front legs over that panic and cause injury

    2. Why just tape, why is in not electric?

    3. Why no head collar?

Also, did she not realise she could have been kicked and really badly injured, although the horses looked they had fantastic temperaments, it can still happen

  • @hackneysaregreat i own horses. if getting kicked in the face was "everyday stuff", id need alot of plastic surgery.
