@wasp9 Well the German still had his weapon in hand, his hands were not raised and the U.S. soldier didn't understand German. Your in the middle of the battle some guy comes out of a building with a weapon and you have seconds to decide. He did what probably everyone would do in that situation, he shot him.

@Theakker3B That is a Pak36 gun with a anti-tank shaped charge grenade. The Germans developed the AT grenade so they could still somewhat effectively use their old Pak36 guns against tanks. It could penetrate up to 7 inches of armor, however accuracy and short range decreased its effectiveness.

Towards the end of the war Allies had tanks with armour that the early war German cannons couldn't penetrate. So they fitted the older guns as makeshift bazookas as you can see here to combat tanks.

Someone tell me what that cannon at 6:08 is called. And does it really fire an RPG from the end it's barrel like a rifle grenade? I've never seen a WWII cannon like that before.
