Nope, it wasn't from 1969. 1971 is correct. How do I know? Big Jake was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. It was in a second run house* and I saw it the weekend of my birthday in October '71. It's been in my Top Five favorite movies ever since.
*Anyone else here old enough to remember second run theaters?
