well I actually got rid of it, but NOT because of the bike's quality. It's a great bike, it handles well, it's fun to ride, doesn't feel heavy, and it's very comfortable. I had it for a year and it was easy to maintain and stuff. It just wasn't me, I'm more of an old school bobber type. The M50 is lean and mean. My only beef with it was a slight lack of power, but it's an 800 so you shouldn't expect a rocket. Other than that it's a great bike.

Very nice sounding! Was there any downside to what you did? When I took the baffles out of my last bike I noticed it ran a lot hotter and the pipes started to blue a bit. Lean, rich... one of the two. Any downside that you noticed?

@ocdetails About the same as your experience. Not bad though, but I didn't end up having the bike long enough really to notice a long term downside. Normally you have a little bit of leeway messing with exhaust. It's when you mess with the air intake is when you can throw things out of whack. But just get a fuel mapper of some sort and you could fix, and probably improve performance. That's what alot of people do for quick easy performance; bigger intake, full exhaust, remap fuel.

i dont know much about exhaust but did you have to take out the baffles to convert them to staright pipes cause i wanna put straight pipes on mine but i took the baffles out

you have to take out the baffles AND the "mickey plates". Read the comments below to find out how to do that. Only taking the baffles out leaves the pipes "debaffled" but not straight all the way through.

Hey, do you remember what size hole saw you used for the larger diameter cut? Thanks.

errr, no I don't. As long as the smallest hole saw is big around enough to go around the baffle hole and the bigger hole saw is alittle smaller than the diameter of the entire pipe. Google "M50 hideaway" and search the forums, there's more specific info everywhere.
