Pictures at an Exhibition

Thirty images that were taken by a Mobile Robot in an indoor environment were segmented using a new segmentation method. The method used to generate the segmentation of the images is a combination of the watershed algorithm which, in opposition to Canny, produces closed regions but with a notable over-segmentation and an iterative region growing algorithm, that fuses similar nearby regions based on their mean intensity value and standard deviation. Due to a parameter configuration, the resulting images are oversegmented. These images, which resemble abstract artwork, were subsequently joined to create a movie.
