This video was taken around Jan 2001 in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. We were on a climbing trip and had heard about a rope jump that could be set up, and as it was too hot to climb, we gave it a go. Here is a snippet of the most terrifying thing I ever did. A big warning though. Don't even think about doing this yourself unless you have a wealth of climbing experience, as well as coaching from someone that has done it before and knows the very specific and hidden issues of setting this up. This is a very dangerous stunt.
how do u go about actually doing it? just rock up up n hope 4 the best? do u have 2 go online n book it??

@cambaman33 Ummm.... no, it's not exactly a pay-per-jump thrill ride. Try reading the description. I think that if you have to ask those questions then perhaps stick to a bungee jump at a theme park! ;-)

nice one. I did this same swing in about 1997. The scariest thing i've ever done.
We used two ropes in parallel just in case, it's hard to know how much force you are really putting on the ropes. I found another vid on you tube of people doing the same swing: search for "first and second swings off finger"

I'll look up that vid, thanks. In my favourites there is another jump video at the same location by some other guys. They used a very different system.
I had two ropes as well, but set one to be 10 metres longer. The reasoning was that 2 equal tension ropes would put twice the deceleration force on me, which might hurt!
