Gigi Galli Big Crash Germany 2008

Gigi Galli broke his left femur in his crash on SS5 today and will undergo surgery this evening to repair the bone.
The Italian crashed his Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Focus 12km from the start of the stage on a fifth-gear right-hand corner. The car stopped after a heavy impact with a tree stump on Galli's side.
Medical crews were quickly on the scene and Galli was air-lifted to the Barmherzige Hospital in Trier, where he will remain tonight.
Galli's co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini was also taken to hospital for precautionary checks but was given the all-clear this evening.

@Thefallenraptor but if it pushed the front axle up the peddle box might have come right into the car jolting his leg its been known, i think this could be the case as the steering collome came loose

@Chouldentfindanygood the initial impact was on front left wheel and colapsable steering is actually safety feature. investigation showed (and gigi confirmed this as well) that his femur was broken by doors and rollcage pushing in... LOL
