Dog training off lead, recall demonstration, distractions Boudicca and squirrels. Darwin is wearing Gentle Leader and traffic lead...only if necessary to take control, notice this only occurs once! It's so easy using positive reinforcement and with the current emphasis on using positive reinforcement over punishment based training, including the use of aversives like shock collars leads me to conclude dog training skill lies in how effective one can use their brain, not brawn (forceful aversive methods). It's more enjoyable for the dog, your companion (!) and it makes you feel better not only because you've used less aversive training methods...you also end up with a relationship build on mutual trust not fear 8-)

  • Hi Joyce! I notice you use alot of hand signals. I wasn't quite sure, if you're using hand targeting or luring for the recall.
