People need to stop acting like Morrowind was a perfect game. It was great, but like anything else it had its flaws (like combat). Just because some says they enjoy Skyrim more doesn't necessarily mean their argument solely concerns graphics.

hmm, so true, but if given the choice between the two, i'd choose story, as long as they have that down they can gild it with graphics to deepen the players experience. It just seems like today graphics come first and story is tacked on. one example, the recent Xbox 1 reveal for call of dudey, their entire focus was graphics, nothing new was added... probably why they are such terrible games (no offence to CoD fans)

Well, you know.That depends.

Morrowind had great graphics for its time, the point is that graphics is one of the main things that NEVER sticks with a game.

Always outdates. So even though they might give an amazing feeling, what really matters is everything else.

And sometimes they can mix both and end up being great like Morrowind did.

I hate how games are judged based solely on graphics these days rather than content or story, I remember playing the old Dragon warrior Final Fantasy games, very simple graphics but enough to convey the enviroment, your imagination then filled in the rest, in many ways better than what we have today. Graphics are nice, but shouldn't be the main focus.

I actually can't pick a "favorite game". Oblivion and Morrowind have more varied environments than Skyrim (except those 500km wide deserts in Morrowind I'd say), but the fact that there are only a few voicelines in Morrowind kills the immersion for me. And the combat system was just terribad. Skyrim is more balanced too, remember the lvl 1 daedric armor in Morrowind ? AND THOSE CLIFF RACERS. DAMN IT. I just find Skyrim to be more fun right now.
