New York City police say an 8-year-old boy was found dead and his socialite mother near death in a room at a luxury Manhattan hotel. Police said they're investigating the death at the Peninsula Hotel as a possible murder and attempted suicide. (Feb. 5)

The detective in question is Tom Hood, of Cheyenne, WyoMING who met with Jordan after she wrote letters to Flint WATERS, a now-retired sex crimes investigator who passed the case to Hood.
