It's just a color scheme, why are people arguing about it? Yes, Boston used it first, but there was one reason why the Pens switched to it was to fit in with the success of the Steelers and the Pirates who won the Super Bowl and the World Series in 1979.

um... the bruins went black and gold in 1949, for the 25th anniversary (if not earlier, my memories a bit foggy), and pittsburgh was in the league since...well idk but the first expansion was in the 60s so no buddy, WE ARE BLACK AND GOLD

yeah, everyone who's seen it has said the same thing. perhaps just how he'd inflict pain on the flyers. it'd've been great for ratings!
