@24frannypack to be honest my laptop is very very very weak...5 year old HP; 1 GB RAM; 2x1.66 ghz......Mac Book Pros are the best laptops you can get....but they are expensive....check out ASUS laptops....they are very powerful und much cheaper!!!
It really depends on the software you need....if you want LOGIC PRO and want to work with PRO TOOLS then you should go for MAC....(ProTools also works for PC)

@DjTymeProductions it depends on how you want it to be set...in reason most of the time i hold one note as long as i want the sample to be =) but you can change this setting..
