On June 4, 2009, President Barack H. Obama delivered a speech in Cairo, Egypt, that contained a distorted view of the Jewish people's historical ties to the land of their forefathers, the land of Israel.

This video and speeches and the various commentators does not even begin to approach what the historical and ALL nuances what life, a pertson let alone what and whoms Land encompasses. Ones should examine thier own life, personhood and the very LAND they stand and walk upon, before casting dispersions....or what "THIER" criterias are for nations self determination, origins, identity, "rights" "are" "for" to validate themselve, while negating others take look at american indian "unbearable

One more thing: This guy tries so hard to justify the settlement activity in Israel but fails (as do all arguments for settlements). His argument is basically this: Well, settlements might be an obstacle to peace, but it doesn't matter because they started it first (by not accepting partition in 1948); and anyway, God says its our land, so it doesn't matter what any one else thinks or says anyway.
That's the argument in a nutshell. Lovely.

Watching this guy on the video is profoundly disturbing. I guess if you are totally brainswashed or steeped in extremist religious thinking, his words sound legitimate; however, for those of us who find using a religious text as justification for an occupation, this man's words are dispicable. I am not anti-Jewish or anti-religious, but no religion should have the power to hold its God and beliefs over another group. This practice is the epitome of entitlement and arrogance (and insanity).

Thanks "RonaldMark" for making this discussion simply unbearable. We appreciate it?!?!?!
The video's speaker, right-wing Israelis, and US conservatives can talk ad naseum about how Obama "hates" Israel, and about "historical ties to the land of Israel." But until Israel stops its settlement activity (which every country on earth has condemned, including both dem and repub), the state has a stain on its moral authority.
There is simply NO justification except arrogance and entitlement. Sad.
