Not a bad idea! Those $99 1200W ones are great when you just want to power a few small items. Cause the noiser bigger ones like the 3650 W one I have, would not be feasible use just to run just a few lights and a TV.

@ezkill99 Yes! No problem! As a matter of fact there's a 12v output already built in just for that purpose. (If you want to charge faster then you'd have to buy a charger and plug it into one of the AC outlets, though.)

so when a brilliant flash in the sky from a nuke comes this is what you will have? a fan and light? nice! $99 is a steal. I bought the 3000 watt. At least I'll have cold beer till the end.

@ericvonp That's pretty funny. Did you even read any of my text? The very FIRST word in my description is "ONE." This is ONE of my generators! I have three. (NOT BRAGGING, just responding.) My 5KW will do my family nicely until the gas runs out. Really, this one is just a toy. But, it's a really nice toy if you need about a kilowatt of 120v PURE SINE power. Hey, maybe we could share a beer and watch the light show! Take care, man!

@DrDave1911 This generator isn't a toy. Its capable of a lot more. I run 2 computer systems during brownouts here in the Islands. My busines depends on this little guy. And it has handled itself well with NO problems.
