PART 2

Batman The Movie speed run on one life, on the Amstrad GX4000 console. It's pretty much exactly the same game that was released a year before on tape/disk on the standard CPC range gaining a nicer title screen, but bizarrely losing the the cool little sound effect on starting levels and gaining a crappy breaking noise for the Batmobile.

Talking of sound effects - I don't know what's going on with this game but everytime I try and record this using different codecs the sound fx always goes out of sync!! Annoying, but I've given up trying to work out what was wrong. I don't remember the slow down in the music happening on the original game either.

  • Also, I have a same problem with synchronization (The Vindicator longplay, for example), regardless of codecs. I'm using WinAPE CPC emulator, and as a compression codec I used ffdshow, but it's simply stays unsynchronized..

I was successful with synchronizing some of those AVIs I had recorded using WinAPE (changing the video framerate value, using 'AVI Frame Rate Adjust software), but for the others there was no success.

So, if you ever find out what's the problem, please inform me. Thanks!

  • Nice gameplay, this is one of my favorite game on CPC! However, I always had a problem with this fourth level, it looks much easier than it is, and every time I miss enough balloons to be killed. It requires more practice than I did :)

One thing I noticed and that's the sound.awesome one! And not only for this game, also for The Vindicator or Target renegade. I'm one-sided probably, but I have heard a music for different platforms (c64, spectrum), but on CPC it just sounds much better..
