This is a song I wrote for a Palestinian child last year. I was compelled to release it today and share it with you.

Suffocate

I understand now why the thought of misery invades your head
I understand how you keep on hiding underneath your bed
Father you protected me and I blame myself
I can't erase the memory of you helplessly bleeding from your chest

Now who will keep the light shining over my head
And how will I wash your blood off my face

Suffocate... you're suffocating me
Leave my country be

I memorize that night where mother wounded lied slowly fading away
And so the signs of a normal ten-year old life drift further everyday
All that remains now are bended stories flooded with lies
The sadness in this truth that it's all nothing new to these children's eyes

Now who will keep me warm when I lay down to sleep
And whose eyes and voice will comfort me

Suffocate you're suffocating me
Leave my country be

I know pain I feel it crawl underneath my skin
I watched my family die and so did I from within
The world can't see that now it's just me
They broke my home and today I'm all alone

  • i did not see palestine but i miss it so much i just want to get back

  • @devil9boy 'we would have welcomes them'? ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Oh I'm sorry, but I don't think you were even BORN then. It is statements like that, that give a grim sight of hope in the future world. Sorry if I am over the top, but you should not be commenting about serious political issues if you think this whole thing is fun and games!

  • @devil9boy Firstly, I have been to Palestine/Israel. Secondly, the UN declared that the war was started by surrounding nations. FInally, I do not 'judge arabs', that is absurd - did you not read the fact that I believe in the rights of both nations to exist? Now that is a humanist way of thinking - not, 'lets all be sympathetic for one side and release a video with a nice backing track to persuade an audience to shed a tear'. That is not a logical way of thinking or peacefully resolving conflict

  • Who started the '48 Independence War after the UN settled a resolution for a nation where Israeli's and Palestinian's could prosper? Extremist Palestinians.

Who started the '67 6 Day War? Surrounding Arabic nations (including Palestine).

When one nation decides to will a war upon another nation and looses; do they gain land or loose land?

Now, I do believe in a two state solution where both nations can prosper, however it can not be done when Hamas believe in the 'annihilation of Israel'.

  • talented, deep, true and beyond sad.
