Hafting a stone point in a hardwood foreshaft using pine-pitch adhesive and sinew.

The sinew is backstrap sinew. The brown flint point is first set into the foreshaft using pine pitch adhesive.

Watch for the final chapter in this short series: Fitting the foreshaft to the cane arrowshaft, fletching the arrow and decorating the arrow with a slight bit of red ocher earth pigment.

  • You're getting a real 'taste' of primitive skills....I can't imagine what that sinew and 'glue' tasted like.... Beautiful arrowhead. Has a lot more 'soul' than a bought broadhead.

  • ever swallowed the sinew?

  • where can i get sinew if i dont know any one who hunts

  • Probably not a good idea to chew that sinew. Just a friendly word of caution. There are all sorts of virusus and bacteria that can survive in the sinew for a very long time after the venison, or cow, or whatever has been butchered.

  • Great!5/5
