  • Excellent information, thank you very much for sharing. Now for those that do not own an electric toothbrush or irrigation system, is flossing and rinsing with these solutions good enough? I just have to ask as most people I know do not own this type of system.

  • @DianeDi

NO flossing and brushing alone will NOT disinfect the mouth. I won't say it is useless but I can absolutely say that the majority of the patients I saw with severe advancing gum disease already flossed and brushed vigorously. Some so vigorously they had even cut notches in their teeth trying to saw away these germs.

Because of advertising far more money is spent annually or rather wasted annually on toxic mouthwashes and poisonous toothpaste than is spent on prevention of gum disease

  • @DianeDi

So for those on a limited budget who want to spend their money on something that works I strongly recommend they get some Lugol's and salt and soda and squirt away the germs.

Swishing it around does little if any good. alcohol based mouthwash increases risk of oral cancers and are largely ineffective as well.

There is an interesting device called Shower flosser you can get on the internet for $25 or less and it attaches tot he pipe from the shower so you squirt while you shower.

  • @DianeDi

You might call the Shower Flosser a mouth shower. I often recommend this device to improve daily compliance.

Although it is not as effective as loading good stuff into a pulsating oral irrigator it is a whole lot better than doing nothing or even flossing. Flossing smears the bugs around and I do recommend that you smear the bugs around so they can't rot teeth but the ones you are really after are swimmers so you need to hose them off after you smear them around like washing a car.

  • Thank you Dr. Kennedy

Great informational video, we all have to take these bad bugs very seriously.

  • @Hermanacometa

Seriously yes and then go kill them with the information you find in my Recipe for dental health. Or better yet get a hygienist who has a microscope and used it to determine how effective his/her subgingival irrigation has eradicated them.

    thank you for your complement.

  • If it comes in a can or a box that is wrong in most cases. I like whole foods that contain no pesticides or nasty ingredients like antibiotics artificial hormones high fructose corn syrup. Sugar is not a food either despite the claims to the contrary but honey is.

Generally you should review the Price Pottenger Nutrition Foundation and see what the research has confirmed is good for you.

  • Go watch how to Kill the bad bugs on my video Recipe for Oral Health YouTube.
