Imagine this guy coaches two teams and I guess he wants to make a name for himself. In other words when the kid reaches some level of relative success this coach can grab some self importance by saying that he had something in the development of the kid.
Besides that if the bat broke and hurt some kid, then guess who would be getting sued?

You have to keep things in perspective is what I was once told by a guy who nearly made it to the big leagues in baseball. It is a kids game. Best advice I ever got while I was coaching kids.
