to all the critics "suck it up" this was 1934, probably filmed in 1933. Take it for what it presents. A film from back in the day when films were new at that someone picked up a Lucy Maud Montgomery book, wrote a screenplay, casted it, and filmed it. AMAZING

call me cordillia, he he.

@hrutujadiwan Yes ! I think so,too. Since Anne is a creative girl she wouldn't have just named the place "Green Gables". I think you are as creative as Anne and I think the name you mentioned here is a great one ! I like it very much.
-
if Anne had really named it, it would have been The Mansion of unending kindness or something like that

so far I like the Megan Follows version better but this one is ok and I've always loved the story.

meanwhile as if megan follows ever looked 11!! i think we should just appreciate all the different versions...especially considering how muych kevin sullivan chopped and rearranged the stories for his adaptations. don't get me wrong, i love his movies, and megan follows too - but i like other versions too - especially the 1975 kim wahtshername one - that is superb and true to the books

Marilla sounds really harsh here= =

They are trying to hide her maturity with braids on her chest...

This is a decent version. Not the best, but it's really interesting to see one of the earlier takes on the story. Shame the 1919 silent version was lost. :(

Great orig. version!
IDK so far I am not impressed. She looks in this movie more like 20 or 21 then the 11 or 13 or however old she is supposed to be. She really overacts!! I prefer Megan Follows. I guess I will give it a fair shake, but so far I prefer the newer one. IDK I will see
