  • I meant its handy to play the improvised version if you haven't got keyboards or as it's called: a clavinet.

It would be better if you played the actual bassline slowly so beginners could learn it.

  • @g4geetar

I think there are many examples of this stuff yet.

  • Not a criticism but the actual bassline isn't at all like this. What you're doing is an improvisation of the guitar part....handy if there are no keys.

  • @g4geetar

One of the main things I learned to play songs in all keys. When I recorded this slow example I just forgot original key of that tune.

    Sorry about that.

  • @proferic play for the music not yourself dude. It's easy to feel left out of the limelight when guitarists are playing more interesting things. However rather than think your given a shit job because your the bass player. You should think well actually this really carrying the groove. just a tip from a fellow bass player. Don't worry we get our time to make guitarists cry. It's harder to sweep on a bass ;)

  • @proferic what a idiot u are! As said in my previous message it's ok if you are improvising for the keyboards but it's not the actual bassline. As for the guitarist comment; if they have the right ethic for being in a band, I shouldnt think they would worry about whether theirs is a major role in one song. You obviously have a hang up about guitarists getting most of the plaudits.

  • @g4geetar Who cares!! The bass line is what the bassplayer playing the song says it is. And hopefully, he's playing up the guitar player's ass while he's doing it!! :)

  • I liked this very much, it was useful for me, I am guitar player and I can play this during the song, thank you!!

  • Search for Superstition multitrack on youtube and you'll find how Stevie actually played it. First off, it's played on a keyboard - a Moog to be precise; second, it's in E flat; and third, what you're playing is some of the guitar part and bits of the bass line! Cheers!

  • search 'funky punk bass slap' for some more funky slap bass grooves

  • Sounds awesome but that's the guitar part you're playing
