  • This is great material. I remember this particular show because I have a tape-to-tape recording of these

  • Have always loved this song and perform it on occasion at open mic nights and coffee shop venues!

  • @shanniepoo Couldn't agree more :)

  • Does anyone have a recording to post by the KT called "OLEANA"? I loved it so much. My x-wife disposed of all of my 78 albums of this group...

  • Unfortunately, I miss this era by a few years (born in '71) but, I love this music. First time I saw the KT was on a PBS special bac in the early 80s & I heard Tom Dooley To me this version of the Trio is my fav.

  • Love it!!

  • About 15 years ago The Trio played at Ward Melville HS, a local school. A friend and I pretended to be workers backstage, mostly in the "green room". One thing led to another and we ended up taking Nick out to a local pub. Bob was reserved and distant--went to his room right after the show. But Nick was charming. We told stories and drank beer for hours. A wonderful man. If you look back over all their albums, how many songs featured Nick's voice? Remarkable member of a terrific group.

  • We've lost 2 of the Kinston Trio this year..first John & now Nick R.I.P. to

    both of them.

  • God Bless John Stewart. You will be missed. You inspired all of us in the folk business, as you always had the vision and never received the credit you so richly deserved. Gord Lightfoot recently told me that the KT's cover of his great song Early Mornin' Rain is the best anybody ever did ir, and that includes ELVIS!!

    Your Kindred Spirit,

  • RIP John. You've turned a lot of "music into gold" and that's a wwonderful legacy

  • I just heard and am quite saddened. RIP John-a tremendous writer and vocalist.
