If it's from Australia, circa 1997, there's a very good chance it was from Sega World Sydney, or at least sold there if it wasn't exclusive to the park. Neat!

Got tons of these myself, and yes some of them are sold for WAY too much. Looks like you didn't have as many problems as I did filming my pin set, kept blurring whenever I brought them close to the camera.
