Rutgers vs. Ohio - Homecoming 2006 - The Rutgers Football Team talk a walk past the statue signifying the first ever college football played. The walk, dubbed "The Scarlet Walk" is now a Rutgers Football tradition invented by the current head coach, Greg Schiano. The entire team and staff walk by the statue and touch it as they pass while the marching band plays and cheerleaders and fans cheer them on.

  • my uncle is a coach hes toward the end

  • hey all of you rutgers fans check out my new video, you will love it, and comment on what you thought. thanks appreciated.

  • It was announced on Friday, 12/07/07, that Greg Schiano is not going to Michigan. So, for the following reasons, I believe that Schiano will stay at Rutgers forever:

    1. Schiano is a Jersey guy, and building a solid program from scratch in his home state has to be the most special feeling.

    2. He turned down Miami, and Michigan, two storied programs, in one year.

    3. He now has a huge house on campus.

    4. Rutgers is having a stadium expansion.

    Amen, anyone?

  • I hear that Schiano is having a house built right near the stadium. Have any of you seen it? Is it big? Is it nice?

  • Man, I watched Rutgers play Navy, and there is no doubt that Rutgers is one of the most well-coached teams in the country! Anyone agree with me?

  • a lot of programs do this.. they copied from quite a few.. UGA has its dawgwalk, Auburn has the tigerwalk, UF has the gator walk.. i could go on forever.

  • yea..the dogs have been doin this 4 years

  • Great tradition going on at Rutgers and I applaud their fans meeting the players and coaches on their way into the stadium except for one little thing...Schiano did not invent this. I don't know who did but the University of Georgia had been doing this for years before Vince Dooley did away with it. Then Mark Richt brought the DAWGWALK back and the Bulldogs have enjoyed this tradition again for the past 6 years. GO DAWGS!

  • Schiano's vision is something else... Shit like this is something we need.. This walk, the chopping wood thing, etc... He's building a dynasty...
