This was my first Zappa album. I was 14 back in '75 and I was hooked. Saw Frank in concert in Charleston, WV that year. Met him afterward at the hotel. George Duke and most of the rest of the band patiently held the elevator waiting for Zappa who was nice enough to greet us kids who had followed his limo from the Civic Center to his hotel so we could shake his hand. It was an awesome experience for a bunch of starstruck kids. Frank's genious will live on forever!

I posted a violin improv of this song on my channel. Zappa fans should feel free to check it out. Thank you for your time. And please stay off the streets and away from gang-related activities.

My dad used to sing that first line to me and my sister out of the blue. I thought he made it up. ._.

Ah yes, Frank's perfect little zircon-encrusted haiku of Conceptual Continuity, linking one of his earliest masterpieces with one of his last (there are still more posthumous treasures to emerge from the Vault, I'm sure). There are so many fierce songs on this album, but Evelyn will always have a special place in my heart. Arf!
Ponder the significance of short person behavior in pedal depressed panchromatic resonance and other highly ambient domains was probably a reference to the Piano People from Lumpy Gravy.
Civilization Phaze III continued the story of the Piano People.
