Nightingale from The Nightingale by Hans Christian Anderson

12 year old Ashley Childers sings Nightingale from The Nightingale. This is a wonderful play about the Emperor of China who learns that one of the most beautiful things in this empire is the song of the nightingale. Ashley plays a kitchen maid that leads the court to a nearby forest where the bird is found. The nightingale agrees to appear at court. The Emperor keeps the bird in captivity, The Emperor loses interest in the nightingale when he is given a mechanical bird. The mechanical bird breaks from overuse. The Emperor becomes deathly ill, only to be saved by the beautiful song of the Nightingale. In another video Ashley sings "Follow Me". from the same musical.
