The highlight of my Quebec Tour was captured here by my cousin Daniel Vallee. I asked my buddy Allan Fraser to join me at the end of my set at the Yellow Door and I launched into an old Fraser & DeBolt favourite of mine, Sweet Salvation. We recorded that song in 72 or 73 at Andre Perry's basement studio in Brossard for an album that never saw the light of day. I didn't even know all the words, but Allan jumped in and now I can start learning the tune properly (I still need to figure out the ending, though). Fraser & DeBolt were such a ground-breaking group in those days and this tune seems like a foreshadowing of the rap phenomenon of the 80s. Mike Regenstreif reminded Allan and I that we played together on that stage 40 years ago. And I still don't know the words.
