You're right. He would be laughed at now because of how he looks. It really pisses me off how many crappy musicians and songs are popular because the people pedaling them have the right look.

I actually met Steve a few months before the Joker was released at a concert he did at Hofstra Univ in 1973. He was actually quite attractive. I think he's just one of those people who doesn't always come across too well on camera. He also has a chameleon thing going on as to his looks. Try finding two pix or video clips where he looks the same. I think it's why he's been able to stay fairly anonymous for so many years, lol!
