  • What's that winding sound? The balancers?

  • should be the injectors...

  • not exactly... look at the flag shadow, a little smoke comes outta the exhaust when i start the car and my brake lights come on on the end... look closer next time before your post

  • im guessing becuase mine is older, colder when im revving it, camera is at a different spot, and i was revving a little higher :) other wise they sound alike lol. You should hear my 951 exhaust i just got installed.. full LR 3' exhaust with Borla Muffler... its exotic..my god.

  • it would easily beat a properly tuned Chrysler 300C with a hemi on the drag track, and would destroy and put to shame any 300C on the track.

It's like asking "Hey can changing the gearing on a luxury vehicle make it faster and handle better than a racing engineered sports car?"

Nothing against the Chrysler, it's a great car... Just it's not in the same class as a 944.

  • you could get a decent non-turbo 944 for $2000-$4000, but turbos go for a bit more more like 6000-9000 or higher if they're in good shape, ive seen one for sale that was 30k, i have an 87' non turbo

  • @darkeyce02 i meant $30,000, not miles, but ya low milage turbos are rarer

  • @kyledude120 now ive been seeing 951's go around 5-8k, in pretty good condition, mileage isnt any lower than 100k though, sometimes it is

  • sounds like a helicoptor starting up with a supercharger not in a bad way tho..

  • I have driven such a car 12 years. Great.

    But now...

    It is 2011 :-)))

It must be over 300 PS...

    911 ;-)

  • I got an '84 stock and it doesn't sound like that. Deeper, and it whines, but it's not the same.

  • @sarpanitu I really really hate to say this but i think the 300c would wind IN A DRAG RACE. It has a power to weight ratio of 167.24 horsepower/ton, while the 951 S model with the 247hp engine has a power to weight ratio of 158.54 horsepower/ton. They have the same coefficient of drag and similar power loss to the wheels. if you would race them stock there is just no way any 944 would beat one. pre 85 = 108hp/ton, post 85 = 103, post 87 = 108, S = 128, S2 = 142, turbo = 139, turbo s = 159.

Dont worry my friend, ive been in the same position! It was head ache after head ache. I had to buy a second hand compressor for which the mechanic was such a cunt. i didnt find out till i repeatedly took it back to him after the engine was squealing on start up that it was the compressor. He kept tighten the belts nothing. Finally i found a good mechanic who new his stuff, apparently the "cunt" left out the major bolt for the compressor. Your right they are a great car though :)

  • @doornob76

Yer i assume it would be pretty expensive. The head gasket on most modern engines are obvisiously under compression and designed to be used once. Have a look around and i suggest its probably worth going to the porsche dealership and getting it fixed. Dont take these cars to someone who doesnt know what they are doing

  • @BoomBoomStockings1 No one knows of anyone who restores these cars? I have one and I need to take it to somebody who can help me with it.

  • @sarpanitu My 944 was a POS I loved it but as far as power and reliability goes its nothing compared to my Ram 1500.
