Legendary White-throated Robin Twitch

This video captures the moment when birders assembled in Hartlepool on 6th June 2011 to look at the first ever generally viewable White-throated Robin in the UK.
The bird was on the bowling green lawn in the early morning but disappeared for several hours until it was discovered in the high-walled 'Doctors' garden, to which access was limited. However with the good-natured assistance of the bemused local residents most of those present were able to get a glimpse of this extreme rarity.

Almost everybody that day saw the bird.

My biggest regret about his video is that I did not take any footage when I was on the top of the wall because I was covered in anti-climb paint and people were yelling at me to come down to make room for those who had not yet seen the bird. Before that I met a local hero who said he had his own ladder as I had told him that I do not queue and he enabled me to see the bird. He is the great guy who you see coming with the ladder for me.
