  • Hey man, I have the same problems as you with your jaw. How did you get insurance to cover it? Mine keep saying it's cosmetic even though it's definitely not. Any info would be great, thanks. my email is jmanter@mail.usf.edu

  • @usfpilot26 I'm active duty Air Force; they covered the tab

  • dang... and beacuse of my splint i cant even shove food into my mouth. the opening to put the food is too small... maybe you are a fast fast healer huh? its shocking you are able to open your mouth that WIDE!

  • @taylorstwelve I'm sure there's a dirty joke in there somewhere! haha

  • today is my 22nd day after the class 3 underbite surgery. My swelling went down by alot. what im worried is that my left cheek seems to be more swollen than my right one. was it like that to you too? one side was bigger than the other? Im happy i had the surgery. i just hate the fact that my face is still swollen :P

my surgeon told me i will be able to take my splint out in about 2-3 weeks. and wow im surprised you are able to talk pretty much well and open your mouth well...

  • @taylorstwelve Yes, it seemed that my left side was less swollen than my right side - swelling went away after 10 weeks... I'm very glad that I had the surgery as well.. I hated life for the first four weeks after surgery... especially immediately after while I was in the ICU

23 now. I was 17 when I had the surgery. However, I've learned to live with it, and it's really not that big of a deal, because no one ever says anything. Most people can't even see it, unless they get real close. It's very noticeable in photos, but really only to me and my family for some reason. I mean, if some random person I didn't know or even a friend saw a picture of me, they're not going to say, " Wow, your jaw is crooked!"

  • @bobbyoh11 Hello.. i never really actually chewed soft foods - I basically swallowed them whole and washed down with liquid... Was slowly able to chew again after six week - although couldn't realy break meat... how's recovery going?

  • @larrykc24 Awww, appreciate it! Thanks so much!

  • @larrykc24 Thanks bud! haha

  • @jreily88 Sorry to hear that - how old are you by chance?
