LA that year won 5 gms against the Bulls and TrailBlazers (the other 92 Finals team). In the playoffs, they had the Suns all but beat in the 5th gm and a ref spared Phx from offseason hell with a bad call in their favor that helped them scrape into OT. CHI should've played SA or SEA in 93. Otoh, LA lost gms to all kind of dregs, including that putrid 11 win Mavs team. They were a classic example of a team over the hill, but with enough vets to pull out big wins here and there.

and they also beat Seattle on NBC later that yr, also I think they knocked of the Rockets once in Houston, the Spurs twice in San Antonio as well as Boston and Charlotte on the road so they played well against the big boys of the league but couldn't beat the terrible teams like Denver and Dallas. But in terms of Chicago they should've played Seattle in the Finals. But I do agree they had the Suns beat I remember they were up 4 and needed a defensive stop.....

Troo, jaboo, LA was up by 4 w/ about 30 secs to go in reg (2 possession gm). They were just going to milk the clock out, the one thing they were top 5 in was fewest turnovers, so low odds of a stupid decision. Barkley dunked a miss that didn't beat the 24 sec clock, the refs ignored it. He clearly had both hands on the ball even after the buzzer sounded. Scott and Worthy threw themselves to the floor in disgust. That made it a 1 poss gm, then Majerle hit a shot for OT where Phx won.

True. For the record, you only got 2 FTs if fouled while shooting a 3 back then. I think Chick would've called that a smart foul if it were anyone but Mikey.
