Thanks for posting this video. He is amazing. I was lucky enough to see him live in March, and he was still sounding great.

he's always wore his pants that way due to a car wreck they had back in the day, ended up with a broken hip that changed his stature and posture somewhat, plus he's not a large tall fellow anyway, but he is my banjo hero, there is no other. i can tell his picking in any crowd of banjo pickers.

earl scruggs is 2 years younger than my mom. She turned 88 this year, 2010. He looks a lot more active than her, and plays the banjo better too LOL. Of course, my mom likes the six fat dutchmen for dancing, but she don't do that anymore either.

This is one of the great things about bluegrass, they get the youngins' up there with a living legend.
It's about getting the next gen ready to take over.
