Italia showed the world her scalp before she knew of our magazine, nor we were aware of her. Avery brave move for the time.

Well they all look good bald, and are happy with it. So what's the big deal? It's disappointing that things have not moved on much since then, in terms of acceptance of the bald look.

@Davidb327 Oh you don't have any idea! Thank your luck for being young in this new century. 50 years ago you could live a lifetime without seeing a picture of a bald woman, much less the real thing. There re only a few women in all of cinema's history who had shaved their heads for a role. Now it seems that young beauties are climbing all overt each other to try out the bald look... and then there's also the hair on the head... and then there's also the hair on the head... the head.

@CapnStan On the contrary I do. I first started shaving my head in 1975, and was inspired by phtogrphs of Grace Jones, Pat Evans and Rudi Gernreich's bald models.

My comments were based on personal experience of people's reaction to myself and others that have the temerity to look in some way different to the norm.
