American R&B singer Mike Angelo went from small town beginnings to riding tour buses with the likes of the R&B King himself R. Kelly. The artist, born Michael Roberts, grew up in rural Northwest Ohio just outside the small city of Findlay. Mike Angelo graduated from Ohio University located in Athens, Ohio with a degree in Audio Production and minor in Voice-Music Performance. While at OU the artist teamed up with cousin Jason Cain to form The Symphonics a Hip/Hop and R&B duo that was known to perform all over campus with songs including "Pimp Sh*t" and "Exercise". The group was also asked to open for national acts Afroman and the legendary 2Live Crew.
Upon graduating from OU Mike Angelo landed a runner position with R&B legend R. Kelly in Chicago, Illinois. Kelly's Chocolate Factory Recording Studio and personal assistant duties for the artist himself prior to and during R. Kelly's national "Light It Up" tour. The artist was was given a "thank you" credit inside the liner notes of the platinum selling album "R. Kelly -TP3 Reloaded" and also added an Assistant Engineer credit to his resume for the R. Kelly produced "Hush" which is featured on Grammy nominated R&B singer Jaheim's 2007 effort "The Makings of A Man".
As a trained classical singer Mike Angelo has performed with both Opera Cleveland and Opera Circle in Northeast Ohio and at the Bar Harbor Music Festival in Bar Harbor, Maine.
His latest project is a yet untitled R&B work set to release in Summer 2012. The first single "Like I Can" was co-written/produced by Mike Angelo and long-time friend and producer Aaron "Genyus" Butler for Renaissance Nouveau Records.
