Hide And Seek is without a doubt one of the most unique songs I have ever heard. I've honestly felt inspired with every listen. So I decided a while back that I wanted to take on the challenge of making a cover of my own. Hopefully I didn't butcher it too bad for your liking!
I'm not entirely sure how Imogen Heap went about producing this tune and creating that chorus of "robot Heaps" behind her. But just to give you an idea of how I achieved the sound that I did, I tracked the lead and overlapping backing vocals as seen in the video, then used a program called Melodyne to manufacture all of the "robot harmonies" from the lead vocals. At any given moment, there are anywhere between 4 and 7 manufactured harmonies going on at once over top of my natural vocals. So needless to say, the production of the robot chorus of Semeskys was quite the task! There are a number of differences between my version and the original but hopefully you are still able enjoy this rendition!
This is the first playthrough video that I have ever created on my own but it would not have been possible without the help of my good friends Alex Rudinger and Greg Macklin. Alex shot all of the video footage and taught me how to use the video editing software. And the one and only Greg Macklin mixed all of the audio! Thanks so much you guys!
I hope you enjoy the cover and thank you all for watching!
