Nice vid. My first couple of UHF antennas looked much the same.

Length is based on frequency. VHF requires longer elements than UHF because it is a lower frequency, building an antenna with mixed lengths will produce undesirable results however, so you actually need to combine separate VHF and UHF elements on one antenna and use a mixer to send both signals down the line.
I built one for UHF only using 9.5" whiskers and 9" spade bit interconnects. Worked well for fringe distance reception. (DB8 design)

anyone can make a better antenna than RCA. I do not understand how RCA is still in business. Their New HD Tv's sound like am radios.

Hi i have an antenna with the following spec details
Gain: 135 to 145
VHF channel 1-14
UHF channel 21-45
Can it capture TV signal from 50 miles away?

Some people say if you want VHF/UHF make the antenna rod longer

patrickhill82 1 year ago
@patrickhill82 no you don't need cable or satellite. this is all for over-the-air television.
