Ravan sends Kumbhakarna to war

Kumbhakarna arrives at Ravan's palace to meet him. Ravan explains to him that the reason he's been woken up is the deaths of Prahast, Makaraksh and a whole host of other Rakshashas, as well as his own defeat at the hands of Rama. Kumbhakarna reminds him of who Rama was, as well as the curse Ravan once received from a king [Aranya] of Ayodhya that Vishnu would take birth in the Ikshvaku dynasty to kill him and the Rakshasha clans. When Ravan is infuriated, Kumbhakarna resolves to kill Rama and present Ravan his head on a platter. However, he leaves Ravan with a last wish that should he himself get killed, Ravan should honorably restore Sita and make peace with Rama. Ravan tells him not to think about being killed, but instead focus on killing Rama instead. Kumbhakarna is then given a ceremonial send-off.

@humbleRaj Both Kumbhakarans look great. This one looks a bit too drowsy and lazy. I guess that's what happens when u sleep for 6 months and wake up for 1 day. But this Ravan totally sucks. The people in Ramanand Sagar's thing was much better.

i am totally not agree with you, Ram and Meghnath (Indrajeet) , were much much better than these crappy actors.. this ravan is much more to laugh about..it looks like i am watching a serial..in which he is a villian.

This Khumbkarn looks good then the one in Ramamnand Sagar's version. But, Ravan in The Earler version was Greater

earlier version actors were much better and non-overactors. this ravana is crapy.

Agree about the Ravan. However, a number of actors do a much better job in this serial, imo - Rama, Sita, Vali, Indrajit, Mandodari, Kumbhakarna, Vibhishan, and some others. While some, like Ravan, Kaushalya, Dasharath, Lakshman, and some others were better in the earlier serial 20 years ago.
I do like the story plot of this Ramayan, where they do a better job of a composite, unlike in the previous serial, where they relied too heavily on Tulsidas (rather than Valmiki)
