SWFLPC & PCPC Naples kick off their winter camping season in the 10,000 islands of south Florida. On Thanksgiving weekend, 11/23 to 11/25/07, 16 people paddle their kayaks to Whitehorse Key, 10 miles from anywhere, for a weekend of paddling, exploring, fishing, photography, and relaxation... along with a little bit of partying.

  • One man told me...You cannot get a fellow Kayaker angry....its impossible...the only way you can upset a fellow Kayaker is add a thunderstorm on the day they plan to Kayak...I agree! Happy Kayaking to you and your family!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • @ypoons89 Thanks, ypoons! I've paddled through a few thunderstorms... still wearing a smile!

  • You realize we have Video camera's?? Water Proof ones too...

  • @ypoons89 - Genius. Pure genius.

  • Is there a danger of a big gator 'grabbing" at you while you Kayak?

I ask this because your low in the water near them while they swim

  • Funny that you should ask that, Snowflake. In January, my GF & I went with 6 friends to Myakka River State Park, where we kayaked close to more gators than you can imagine - some, bigger than you might imagine. They avoided us, even running off the bank they were sunning on, to escape & submerge, to hide. I have some great video footage from this trip, and very soon, I will edit it into a video. If you subscribe to my videos, you'll be notified when I upload it.

    Thanks for watching!

  • i ben whanting to go ocean kayaking any info would be great

  • I'd like to know if Al Seely's hermit cabin is still on Dismal Key. He would paddle to Goodland to trade from time to time. He's passed away now. There was a great story on him 25 years ago and how he came to be the hermit of Dismal Key.

  • Wow, that looks like fun. Good for you!

  • Fun and gorgeous video! Must say I like the Buffett too! I see your group is fond of the ole Current Designs boats... not to mention the sleek hand-builts too. Take a peek at my video from last summer on my page. We're the Castaways Against Cancer and we raise money paddling the Keys for the American Cancer Society every year. Row hard!!

  • okay thanks guess I have been watching to many "When nature attacks" footage lol but it seemed like something that could happen
