well; Germans had since early middle ages agenda of "drang nach Osten" and the West still considers East Europeans as something less than they are. German army got special orders to treat Soviets as not only ideological enemies but as underrace, to be as brutal toward them as possible...The final plan was to exterminate Slavs to make "Lebensraum" for Germans.

At least SIX times more Slavs died during WW2 than Jews did, but everybody pities only the Jews...
