@GoldtopSam That's funny, I played a Mark IV head this weekend and found it very noisy.

@f2kflyer might be why they break down so much

Have you ever tried the Egnater TM thru a Marshall 1960 cab? Opinion? . . . thx!

@joelg125
Hello, no I have not. The only Marshall I've played it thru is an MF280 straight cab (70 watt Vintage 30's). 1960's are not my preferred cab but, with the global presence and density controls you can "tune" the head to whatever your is cab by adding or subtracting what's needed.

Yes, the Rebel 20, Tweaker, Renegade, Rebel 30, Tourmaster, all made in China. The bigger Egnaters, the Renegade and Tourmaster are noisy on the gain side. The torroidal power tranny is supposed to make for a quieter power section, but I found it to be the opposite. Retuned mine and got a super clean used Mesa MkIV short head

I find that most high gain amps are noisy but, the better quality ones are on the acceptable side. The Tourmaster's fine. I like the Rebel 30 and Renegade quite a bit as well. Tone is tone regardless of where it's made.
