Episode: The Netherworld
Level: Satan's Dark Delight
Secrets: Four
Difficulty: Nightmare

So the Devil himself had a hand in designing this funky ol' level. You got to hand it to him, the guy sure knows how to pick a wallpaper. Okay, that's enough of that joke now. It's been milked for all its worth; however much that was.

Bloody Fiend! The one at 3:18 I was not expecting to emerge from around the corner until I had the opportunity to peek MY head around it. They're cunning on this difficulty, they are. I wouldn't be surprised if one actually manages to leap out of the screen at me. Let's not tempt fate though...

Rather than having you question my own sanity, I direct your attention to when I undertake two Super Rocket Jumps (or Uber Rocket Jumps for the more l33t among you). To be honest, I really didn't think I'd pull it off. And twice too, no less! I was trying to use both the Quad Damage and the Pentagram to my advantage in the room with the Fiends and Ogres but unfortunately they both ran out just as I reached it. Bit of a wasted opportunity I feel.

On one last note, lifts and moving platforms tend to be the bane of my life once more. On some occasions, I'm sat around twiddling my trigger-happy thumbs waiting for them to move. But, I've learned to be patient.

----------------------------------------

Secret One:
Method One - 1:45 - 1:52.
Method Two - 2:07 - 2:17.

Secret Two: 3:46 - 4:19.

Secret Three: 4:08 - 4:14.

Secret Four: 6:23 - 6:30.

  • The graphics here look awesome compared to the one I run on DOSBOX. What system are you using here and when did they remake it? I would have bought this instead of the old one off of ebay

  • @rhinofarley Hehe. This isn't a remake.

For this playthrough, I used the Steam version of Quake powered by the custom built Darkplaces engine. If you want to know more about how to acquire this patch, look for my Introduction/The Slipgate Complex video from the same playthrough. It contains a link to the patch in the video description.

Do note that the patch is for the Steam version of Quake ONLY and won't work with the version you're using in DOSBox.

If you hold down Tab there is a scoreboard that shows the how many secrets you've found/the total amount of secrets in level, as well as kill count/total enemies. Make sure you can see the entire HUD at the bottom though.

  • Is there only 43 kills on this map ? Because thats all I can find as well .
