  • It's insecurity. Insecurity from fear. Fear of the unknown or fear of being without something in life. Greed is weakness. Greed is a disease born of insecurity. Well said, Steph. [[[HUGS]]] ;-)

  • I think in the next Superman movie you should get a part..... :o)

  • Your a wise man, and I hope others learn from your post.

  • i agree, my friends and i make it a point to volunteer at least once a week. people need to be knocked down a peg and learn to be humble. like you said, why should one person have everything when all around us there's people with nothing?

  • Too many people confuse greed and ambition.

Is it wrong to want more $ No.

Ambition pushes us to earn $ ... to provide loved ones with food, clothing, shelter, & medicine.

You might think buying many cars you don't need seems greedy. In some cases, wealthy people like Jay Leno have bought & restored many cars that are valuable pieces of history gone by.

The difference between greed & ambition is purpose. In the end, we're all temporary. The condition we leave behind is what matters.

  • Greed, greediness denote an excessive, extreme desire for something, often more than one's proper share. Greed means avid desire for gain or wealth (unless some other application is indicated) and is definitely uncomplimentary in implication: His greed drove him to exploit his workers. Greediness, when unqualified, suggests a craving for food; it may, however, be applied to all avid desires, and need not be always uncomplimentary: greediness for knowledge, fame, praise.

    —Antonyms generosity.

  • 1st i think u completely misunderstood me .... i personally love speed . i'm "passionate" about speed so i buy a fast car.i dont buy 4 fast cars just 1... and after a couple of years a better one comes out, i'll sell the one i have and get a the new "1"...2nd think about ur TV better yet ur computer if people didnt want to invent better things then we will still be stuck with a computer as big as a couch , now u tell me that we dont have to invent new better stuff..........pleasr

  • Then perhaps we need to reexamine our "whole life as we know it"? And I think you're playing semantics when you replace greed with passion. A "passion" for consumption? I don't think so.

  • agreed, but about owning a better, faster more luxurious car isn't greedy .. it's passion..

plus ur sayin why would u buy a more expensive car if the one u have already works

well isnt our whole life as we know it is built by people wanting better stuff than they already have

  • some people think its never enough..

  • I know someone who's REAL GREEDY, more so than anyone I met in my entire life. Karma got them eventually. I could make a vid about that.

  • You are far from wrong Steph, and I agree too, greed is a disease. Peace to you in all its dimensions.
