My Adult Baptism ( Please Read More Info)

I'd like to point out, that being housebound need not deter you if you wish to join the Catholic Church. During my 14 month journey, a rehearsal the previous week and this day, were the only 2 days in which I attended church. I can NEVER repay the kindness and love shown to me. I give thanks to God. ♥

On 28th July I achieved my desire to be Baptised and wanted to share my day with you. To me, this was an outward sign of my love in a God I believe was ALWAYS with me and has worked great miracles on my behalf. As I look back on my life, I see stepping stones that led to this day.

Being housebound and opening this channel, was another of God's wonders. I had no way then of knowing, I was answering God's calling.

Making friends with EmC I recorded this Hymn at his request. On chatting, Em mentioned the emotion in my voice and I said that was due to the fact that I was singing to a God I loved. This then led to talk about my faith and whether I had been Baptised. I said no and that if I could, I'd be Baptised in the Catholic faith.

I had many reasons for this, beginning with a fellow patient and nun named Sr Loyola, who'd prayed for me (aged 13, immediately before major spinal surgery). I astonished doctors by pulling through, when they were sure they'd lost me to post operative pneumonia. This was one of three times, my God stepped in, when by all rights I should not have lived.

I had no idea (if due to being housebound) I could ever achieve my dream, and no idea where to begin.

Em, gave me a telephone number, saying that should not prevent me. I rang and was visited by a priest from my local church.

Whist chatting about my faith and reasons for wishing to join the church, the nun I mentioned previuosly (Sr Loyola), came into the conversation. He actually KNEW her, and in September last year, I met her again after 41 years! A gift from above.

My 14 months of studies began. I watched Mass on the Internet each day with Em and he sent me prayers and gave me constant support.

My priest arranged for home visits and my weekly studies took place in my home.
I was even offered the option of home Baptism, but I thought if I were recieving the Blessed Sacraments from God, I should be in His house. Any discomfort or pain, were a small price to pay.

I cannot put into words what this day meant to me. It was such a beautiful and emotional day.

I share only MY journey and MY faith, which I realise may not be yours, but I believe God deserves my praise and so, it's important to me to upload this video.

Hello there David....I've been gone a while too my friend. I've had a terrible time due to PC problems. I ended up having to reformat and just got everything back to normal, when my broadband cut out. I finally had an engineer out this morning and hopefully I'm back now. Congratulations! :D I am so happy for you I am currently living in a protestant home but I plan to take RCIA so I can become catholic. I have catholic family but my mom chose for me to become protestant and I always preferred Catholicism. I hope to start after I finish high school. Again congratulations you really inspire me
