You can still get employment after filing bankruptcy. The purpose is to get you out from under the 35k. There is no time limit to how long someone can go after your debt.

I heard that when filing for chp 7, good luck in finding employment.
I owe between my wife and I about 35K or may be even more. Some of the debts are older than ten years, but the collectors keep calling.
I just don't answer their calls, and Mr. Hughes (the one who call the most) keeps getting more angry with nasty messages.

i just got my discharge papers today, what do i do now? do i need to contact the credit bureaus about my discharge? and what's the best credit cards to apply for? I was thinking about applying for a gas card.

I have heard about some lawyers cleaning our credit record is that true? They call it a sweep? Doy ou do that?

I have never heard of that. The only way I know of to "clean" or "sweep" you r credit is to file bankruptcy and eliminate all debt.
