Summary: CH-54 helicopter brings in 155mm How and sets it down atop hill of FSB Whip. Copter flies off. Smoke from signal grenade. CH-47 comes in with 105mm How and ammo in sling. CH-47 flies in with slingload of ammunition. More of CH- 47s bringing in 105mm Hows. Soldiers setting up the 105s. AVs, Fire Support Base (FSB) Normandy atop mountain.

  • April 13, 1969, we were performing a CCN Mission in Laos, and got shot up so bad, we had to make a forced landing at FSB Whip..... Without Whip, don't know where we could have made an emergency landing without being captured.
