The only known footage of the Reza Shah of Iran with audio discovered in Turkey

The only known footage of the Reza Shah with audio, showing the Shah of Iran on an official state visit to Turkey in 1934, has been discovered after 76 years by a university professor in Istanbul,Turkey.

Professor Sughar Sammy Avghlv discovered this unique film, inside a local grocery shop in Istanbul, Turkey.

"The shop-keeper was shredding a pile of old negatives and mixing them with acid to make some sort of paste, among them was one labeled; Kemal Atatürk which immediately caught my attention" said university professor Avghlv.

Professor Avghlv offered the shopkeeper more than $200 before he could convince him to sell these footages.

We understand that this is the only footage of the Reza Shah of Iran with audio.

The first part of the film shows a brief conversation between Kemal Atatürk and Reza Shah.

Second part is showing Reza Shah of Iran and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk visiting the port of Istanbul, accompanied by both Iranian and Turkish government officials. Unfortunately, this past has no audio.

Transcript of the conversation between Kemal Ataturk and Reza Shah of Iran on sate visit to Turkey 1934:

Kemal Ataturk: We are extremely delighted that you have finally come to Turkey.

Reza Shah: I am also elated to be here; I have long waited for this visit.

Kemal Ataturk: Thank you very much. We sincerely feel the same and are pleased to finally meet you here in Turkey.

Reza Shah: As you may know a few years ago I spoke to your representative and informed him of my intention to visit your country.

Kemal Ataturk: Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Our friendship is too old and was started many years ago. This is a mutual acquaintance, and we will strengthen our deep and close relationship even more.

Reza Shah: perhaps there has been some negligence in the past, but hopefully we will change that in near future.

Kemal Ataturk: I have no shred of the doubt and all Turks are feeling the same.
